Description

This catalogue is published to commemorate the exhibition “De Sein” co-curated by He Jian Ping, Amy Chow, Freeman Lau and Dr. René Grohnert.
“DeSein” is homonymic with Design, and “De” is indeed the short form of both Germany (Deutschland) and Design. “Sein” means exist. This book showcases the development of German graphic design since the World War II, including posters, corporate identity, typography and publications.

With a selection of more than 160 design pieces, they clearly demonstrate that German design is more rational, pragmatic, relying on sophisticated technology, and have a closer cooperation with industrial mass production
