Supported by Miele, the German manufacturer of domestic appliances and commercial equipment, A Traditional Taste is a book to celebrate the history, heritage and culture of food in Hong Kong.
The book is carefully divided into five sections in offering a thorough documentary of Hong Kong food culture, started with an overview of Hong Kong food history, interviews with local restaurants, sketches, recipes and finished with a series of forward-thinking ideas of Hong Kong cuisines.
The book has specifically dedicated a section with a feature of a programme that held by Miele “SKETCH Hong Kong Food” through out the past years, encouraging the local artists to express and document local food culture via doing sketches.
This book project is a non-profit initiative designed to bring awareness to the heritage of Hong Kong’s food & cooking culture through a series of first-hand interviews and discussions with a range of notable influencers and leaders from the world of food and cooking here in Hong Kong. Proceeds will be donated to Feeding Hong Kong, a Hong Kong registered charity dedicated to fighting hunger and reducing food waste.
