Coasteering is an outdoor activity that combines water diving, swimming and shore climbing. It requires exceptionally high physical fitness and skills and must be carried out under the supervision of experienced people for safety’s sake. Because of the topographical characteristics of sea caves, it is essential to master coasteering techniques before getting into sea caves.

Meko thinks coasteering is challenging but refreshing. Even at the same spot, there could still be a new experience every time, as coasteering is deeply affected by environmental factors, whether the scale of waves, or the level of water. They will bring different landscapes, challenges and surprises to each trip. Since there is no formal coasteering course in Hong Kong, Meko has set up a group with other enthusiasts to exchange information and share experience. Although the journeys were full of difficulties and risks, the natural landscapes such as sea caves, sea pillars, volcanic rocks, and cliffs along the ways were magnificent and rewarding.

About Meko

Meko, one of the few female coasteerers in Hong Kong, is also known as one of the best. She was nurtured by her parents and has loved hiking and trekking since she was young. When she grew up, she began to participate in coasteering and rock climbing. Recently, she enjoyed visiting rare natural sceneries, exploring new adventurous routes, and discovering more splendid natural landscapes.
